The piece grows from the word “lupa” – soil in Filipino – around conversations about migration, identity and transformation. It reflects on how we carry and plant our roots in new lands, embrace change and question conformity. The piece honors quiet resilience and the beauty of becoming.

Johannes Gudbrandsen-Stavland

Johannes is a street practice. It is Johannes, but it is not Johannes. A driven figure who shrimps, scrapes, spins and holds on.
