2018 — PROJECTS

In this seminar we looked at how the diverse artist’s role is in Panta Rei Dance Theatre (PRD) looks. With lectures and discussions, this was presented from the management’s point of view and with the practitioner’s perspective on how it is to work as a dancer in PRD.

Who is the dance artist in 2018? – seen in light of a dance field that is constantly evolving

The seminar also took into account what it means to be an employed dancer in the Actor and Dance Alliance (SKUDA). Tone Øvrebø Johannessen talked about what SKUDA is and gave participants insight into the criteria and tips on how to apply for employment. Tone also took us through the development of the Norwegian dance field to where it is today.

The day ended with an interactive part where participants discussed and shared their thoughts and experiences about the following:

  • What is the role of dance in society now, or what can it be?
  • How can you, as a dancer, help develop the role of dance in society in the future?
