“What is Art? – Open day!” Oslofjorden Danser at Drammens museum

The event is free and open to everyone.

Through movement, saxophones and open encounters, we invite audiences to explore the question: What is art? Perhaps there is no single answer, but many – and perhaps art emerges in what happens between people, place and time. Can art be a dance? A sound?

Throughout the day there will be a variety of performances and artistic happenings, and you as an audience can put together your own festival-day. Choose what you would like to see, take a break on one of the picnic blankets on the lawn – and join in again when something new begins. Bring your family and friends, or enjoy the day on your own. Here you will meet professional dancers and musicians, students from Attic Danseskole and much more!

Attic Danseskole will perform choreographies by Ida Hebsgaard Mogensen, Mathias Engelstad and Isabel Dao. Audiences will also experience musical performances by the saxophone quartet AQUA D’or, featuring Kristin Rukke, Leah Billingsø, Solveig Grønnestad and Sophie Strøm.

Throughout the day, three solo works created through TILT Grow will also be presented: Per Anders Kraudy Solli in collaboration with Jens Trinidad; Ingrid Schade in collaboration with Line Tørmoen; and Elias Bäckebjörk in collaboration with Dario Wilmington.

There will be opportunities to buy food and drinks throughout the day. God Jul Lille Venn will serve food, while Eskedar will offer Ethiopian coffee. This is also one of the last opportunities to experience the current exhibitions at Drammens Museum before they close.

We recommend bringing an extra sweater, comfortable footwear and rainwear if the weather forecast calls for it.

This one-day festival has been developed by the artists in the talent development programme TILT Grow as their main project, with guidance from Panta Rei Danseteater.
