Sundbysand Safari - between myths and reality - Oslofjorden Danser at Sundbysand Gård

07.08.2026

On 30 August, we invite you to Sundbysand Safari – a poetic, humorous and wonderfully unconventional walking performance at the beautiful Sundbysand farm, filled with little surprises along the way. An unforgettable adventure of discovery for the whole family.

📅 Date: 30 August 2026
🕐 Time: 13:00 and 15:00
📍 Location: Sundbysand farm, Sætre

Tickets can be reserved here.

Join us on an expedition through a landscape filled with stories, dance, traces and hidden tales. Together with an energetic guide, the audience moves through woodland, open fields and secret places, where stories are hidden in the landscape and nature holds more than the eye can see at first glance.

Keep your eyes open – on this journey, you never know what might be hiding around the next bend, or who might suddenly emerge from between the trees.

What might you encounter along the way?

At the heart of this walking performance is the living interplay between nature and the people who inhabit it. In a unique and inspiring collaboration with students from KGB Dans & Ballett and Asker Kulturskole, the paths and woodland around us are transformed.

Along the route, you will also encounter three solo works by dancers from TILT Grow, Mathias Engelstad, in collaboration with choreographer Yaniv Cohen; Ida Hebsgaard Mogensen, in collaboration with choreographer Halla Ólafsdóttir; and Isabel Dao, in collaboration with choreographer Thi Mai Nguyen.

Music and visual art help tie the experience together. Cellist Einar Halle allows the music to emerge in dialogue with the landscape and the natural sounds around him. At the same time, artist Ljubica Lazanova creates a visual work that develops throughout the performance, shaped by the space and the moment in which it is created.

After the expedition, you are warmly invited to stay and enjoy the idyllic farm. Explore the surroundings, relax and enjoy something delicious at our very own “basecamp café” – the perfect ending to an unconventional Sunday outing.

Sundbysand Safari has been developed by the artists in the talent development programme TILT Grow as their main project, with guidance from Panta Rei Danseteater.

The performance takes place outdoors on grass, gravel and natural terrain. We recommend comfortable footwear and clothing suitable for the weather. Parking is available in the farmyard, above the farm.

For audience members with reduced mobility, we will make the performance as accessible as the terrain allows. Please get in touch with us in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
