In Gjerdrum we collaborated with Skapia on songwriting and performing choreography
Skapia specializes in giving children and young people inspiration and knowledge to create their own songs. In Gjerdrum, the annual project was inspired by that concept and included both song writing and performance. The performance were replaces with recordings because of the pandemic. Nevertheless, the project managed to carry out choreographic work for one of the songs including a performance on the main stage of Gjerdrum Kulturhus. All the work on music and dance took place in association with professional artists and young people from Gjerdrum Middle School. The professional performers came from Skapia and Panta Rei Danseteater. As a fun fact, one of the songs was selected to play from the bell towers from Oslo City Hall throughout the summer of 2021.
About Skapia
Skapia all primary school-age children and young people to compose music. All participants have an instructive feedback from composers and songwriters.
Skapia wants all children and young people to experience their own creative power. Through our national and local activities, we give children and young people the opportunity to develop their creative abilities in interaction with others.
