‘Golden’ is an energetic dance full of unexpected movements, letting tiredness, uniqueness & weirdness slip in, she is dancing like no one is watching, breathing and sweating standing still at hectic times reflecting the world of today.

MALENE JULIUSSEN OLSEN

Malene is a 25-year-old contemporary dancer from Bergen. She graduated from Artez University of the Arts in the Netherlands, with a bachelor’s degree focusing on performing and creative contemporary dance. Through work with choreographers such as Cecilia Moisio, Hendrik Aerts and Jan Martens, she has developed an interest in absurdity and humor, which her own creations often reflect.

Malene spent the last year of her education as an apprentice with Norrdans in Sweden. Here she worked with national and international dance artists and choreographers and had the opportunity to tour performances across the country.

The experience of sharing dance with small villages and people with little knowledge of the art form confirmed her passion for this type of sharing, something she looks forward to continuing with together with Panta Rei Dance Theater and the TILT project. Over the past year, Malene has worked as a freelance dance artist in various projects around Europe, while she has continued to develop her own artistic choreographic practice.

KOEN DE PRETER

Koen De Preter is a choreographer from Belgium. In his work he takes risks with form and target audiences. He creates evening and school performances, makes work outside the theatre walls and sets up social-artistic projects. In his work he has a fascination for performers of all ages and dance backgrounds. He always strives for a balance between abstraction and theatrical performativity in choreography and uses eclectic soundtracks for his creations.
